Listen to the quiet voice

The secrets you don’t know you know

Listen to the quiet voice inside you.

Your body and brain senses far more than you know. You might struggle to articulate what you want, but deep down you always ‘know’ what you desire.

Listen to the voice closely because it will not bargain with you. It will just tell you the truth non-judgmentally. It will tell you what really moves you even if you deny it consciously.

You can’t reason with this voice because it is like reasoning with a mirror. You can close your eyes but you can’t ask your reflection to be anything other than what it is.

There is no dialogue with the voice. It only talks.

And it always talks. If you’re not hearing it, you’re not listening closely enough.

Both the joy and tragedy of human existence is rooted in the same thing: consciousness. Conscious thought allows us to plan and achieve great things, but it also makes us aware of all that is painful, frustrating and mundane.

But if you really think about it, the most joyful experiences are those where we are not conscious of what role we are playing in bringing about that experience.

Doing things after thinking is a human trait, but to truly live is about doing things by instinct. To do things automatically, without conscious thought is when we’ve established touch and trust with the voice.

So give yourself the time to listen to the voice. Wake up before anyone else or stay up while everyone else sleeps. You will hear yourself only in silence.

There will be a lot of junk that needs to be moved out of the way. So write whatever comes to mind.

It will be crap, but you need to bring it out. Sometimes the voice is buried so deep that it will take a while before you will be able to hear it.

Find the voice and recognize it as your own.

Maybe you will find that the answers were always right where you’re standing.
